Chongqing Technology and Business University

Located at the well-known historic and cultural city of Chongqing, Chongqing Technology and Business University is a multidisciplinary university of Economics, Management, Literature, Technology, Law and Sciences, all disciplines developed in a coordinated way, with distinctive financial and economic features. Under joint construction by the central and local authorities and mainly administered by Chongqing Municipal Government, CTBU is a designated institution of higher education which could enjoy key support in the program of “one school in one province” in western China.

In CTBU there are two campuses, covering an area over 2,700 mu with the main one on Xuefu Avenue close to Nanshan Mountain and the Yangtze River. Excellent in environment with green trees shading streets, the campus has been awarded as one of the Top Ten “Garden Type Units”.

CTBU has nearly 2,100 faculty and staff, including over 700 members with senior professional titles, over 1,000 with doctoral and master degrees. There are over 30,000 full time students including undergraduates and post graduates; 22 schools and teaching centers, 2 independent schools and 71 undergraduate programs; 8 category disciplines of postgraduate programs (covering more than 50 sub-discipline programs) for applied economics, business and administration, environmental science and engineering, etc., 2 post-doctoral programs and 1 branch of mobile post-doctoral research station. There are 8 key disciplines at municipal level such as applied economics, business and administration, environmental science and engineering, etc. Eleven national and provincial/ministerial level research institutes have been set up, including “Research Center of the Economy of the Upper Reaches of the Yangtze River”, “Engineering Research Center for Waste Oil Recovery Technology and Equipment, Ministry of Education” and “Chongqing Key Lab of E-Business and Supply Chain System”. In recent years, CTBU has undertaken over 3,000 research projects of various types at different levels and won provincial/ministerial awards for over 100 projects. 221 national patents have been granted.

Joint-degree programs of bachelors and masters have been initiated together with over ten well-known foreign universities including University of Lincoln in UK and Université Toulouse 1 in France. Cooperative relationships have been established with over 50 foreign universities in 17 countries or regions. The first ACCA program in Chongqing is offered and CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) and ISM(International Settlements Master) programs are in operation.
